A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at St. James Temple Missionary Baptist Church, Tarboro, North Carolina with Chief Apostle Ernest Dickens officiating. He is survived by his daughter Bernita D. Stephens, Princeville, North Carolina, three grandchildren Jocelynne Stephens-Telfair (Ronzell), JaVonna Stephens and JaNisha Stephens. One sister Rosa Powell and a brother Jesse Dickens of Pinetops, North Carolina, a special nephew Willie Powell, Tarboro, North Carolina.
