Joseph McClary Obituary Scotland, Neck Mr. Joseph McClary (Joe), 68, of Scotland Neck, NC, peacefully departed this life on July 15, 2019 at the VA Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. Joe was born on November 21, 1950, in Oakland, Florida to the late Dorothy McClary and Joseph Hoskins and was the youngest of three children. Joe was a graduate of Charles R. Drew High School in Winter Garden, FL. Following graduation, Joe enlisted to serve our country in the United States Army. Joe always had a love for building maintenance, so he ultimately made a career out of his passion. He was also employed as a Truck Driver for many years prior to retiring. Joe enjoyed having a good time at ALL times and could probably best be described as the "life of the party." Joes enthusiastic and comical spirit, along with his infectious laugh and big smile left an imprint on the hearts and lives of everyone that he crossed paths with. Joe was proceeded in death by his sister, Barbra Ann Ward, Newark, NJ, and leaves to cherish in his memory a wife of 36 years, Virginia McClary, Scotland Neck, NC; a son, Sidney Spoonhour, Chambersburg, PA; a daughter, Ursula Walker (Darius), Charlotte, NC; one brother, Sidney McClary (Patricia), Oakland, FL; five grandchildren, and a host of beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Dickens Funeral Home, Tarboro, NC at 1pm., on Saturday July 20, 2019, with the repass to follow at M.A. Ray Center, 1405 Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr., Tarboro, NC.
