Barry McNeil Sr., a devoted husband, cherished father, and proud grandfather, was called to glory on Tuesday, May 6th, 2025, at his home, surrounded by love and peace. Born October 10, 1958, in Queens, New York, to the late James Wallace and Ethel Barr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Keihin Auditorium at Edgecombe Community College, Tarboro.  Interment will follow immediately after with military rites at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, Tarboro.

A viewing will be held from 2:00PM - 6:00PM, Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Dickens Funeral Service, Inc., Tarboro.

Barry was a devoted family man, married to the love of his life, Diana McNeil. Together, they created a legacy of love and unity. He was the proud father of Tawann Cooper (Michael) of Tarboro, NC; Barry McNeil Jr. (Sheureakia) of Fort Worth, TX; Navod McNeil of Durham, NC; and Nico Barnes (Erica) of Rocky Mount, NC. One God-Son Michael Graham of Greenville, NC.  He also found great joy in his grandchildren: Tamara Stancil (Zebulon), Marlecia McNeil, Michael Cooper Jr., Saniyah Cooper (Tarboro), Mateo & Xolani Barnes (Rocky Mount), along with three beloved great-grandchildren Kayden Lyons, Kaylee Lyons, & KaShton Williams (Zebulon) who brought him endless happiness.

Barry was the eldest of his siblings: James McNeil (Letrice) of Las Vegas, NV, Wanda Campfield, and Kisha Grant (Dontae) of Indianapolis, IN. His memories will live on with his in-laws; Betty Pittman (Bishop Vonezell) Tarboro, Beulah Williams (Tarboro), Edward and Donald Powell (Wake Forest). He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will cherish his memory and the many ways he touched their lives. Barry McNeil Sr.'s life was a beautiful testament to faith, family, and service.
