Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Salem Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Jonah Walston officiating. Burial will follow in the Dancy Cemetery. He is survived by his children, Mary McCray Sherrod of Tarboro, North Carolina, Maggie Thorne of Castalia,North Carolina, Ray Sharpe of Germany and Clarence Pittman of Castalia, NC, one sister, Mary Modlin of Tarboro, NC. A public viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Dickens Funeral Service, Inc. of Tarboro, NC.
