Mr. Leroy Mitchell Obituary Deacon Leroy Mitchell, 89, died March 1, 2008. Funeral services will be held Thursday 2 p.m. at Free Union Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. William Suggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Dancy Memorial Cemetery. He was a member and served as a Deacon of the Free Union Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from the Town of Tarboro. He was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Caroline Dickens Mitchell. He is survived by three sons; Samuel Mitchell of Washington, D.C., Charlie Mitchell of the home, and Ben Mitchell of Lynchbury, Virginia; one brother; Josh Mitchell of New Jersey; one sister; Martha Dickens of Seat Pleasant, Maryland, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and four great- great grandchildren.
