Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11,2017 at Salem Chapel Church (1992 Fishing Creek Road, Tarboro, N.C.). Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery, Tarboro, N.C. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Debra Dickens Powell of the home, his children, Ricky Powell, Terry Pittman, step children, Lashirl Howard, Willie G. Bobbitt, Lorena Battle, Ardella Anthony,his mother Irene Powell, his siblings, Nathaniel Powell, James Powell, Arleen Wilson, Bettie Boddie, Frances Powell, Teresa Tillery, Dorothy Roach, Carolyn Johnson, a brother in Christ, Linwood Jones, a special friend, Milton Sherrod and a host of other relatives and friends.
