Mrs. Pearl Cherry Obituary Mrs. Pearl Pittman Cherry, 74, died September 21, 2007 at the Tarboro Nursing Center. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday Sept.26, 1 P.M. at St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Gregory Black officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Matthews Church Cemetery. She is survived by her husband Rev. Walter Cherry, Jr. of the home, one stepson Rodney Smith of Rocky Mount, two grand daughters Angela Vinson and Kristie Hilliard both of Whitakers, and one sister Florence Pittman of Rocky Mount.
