Mrs. Shirley Bellamy Obituary Hampton, Virginia Mrs. Shirley Council Bellamy, 69, died Saturday, March 12, 2011. She was born to the late King and Ora Ewuell Council in Edgecombe County, North Carolina. She was employed at Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding as a material supply clerk in the M53/053 department until she retired after 31 years of service. Shirley joined and attended First United Church where she was an active member until her health began to fail. To cherish her memory she leaves her supportive husband, Edward Bellamy; two daughters, Evelyn Boone of Newport News Va. and Juliet \\'Deon\\' Jones (Derrick) of Winston Salem, NC; four grandchildren Jannetta Bartlett (Dwayne Daniels), Fernando Bartlett (Teressa Tucker), Derrick Jones Jr. and Damiea Jones; eight sisters, Verlene Dickens (Moses), Audrey Jones (Yawn), Ora Mae Council, Yvonne Council, Lorraine Whitehead, Erma Bullock, Gloria Cooper (Tony), Linda Clark (Dexter); seven brothers, King Council Jr. (Ethel), Harvey Council (Jean), Curtis Whitehead (Doris), Walter Council (Carolyn), Julius Council (Evonne), David Council (Karen), Marvin Council (Kimberly), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Edward Bellamy, Jr. Viewing will be held 12-6 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Cooke Brothers Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Baptist Church, 6400 Roanoke Avenue in Newport News, VA. Cooke Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Local arrangements by Dickens Funeral Services, Inc. of Tarboro.
