Ms. Gwendolyn Reid Obituary Scotland Neck N.C. Ms. Gwendolyn Faye Reid departed this life on Sunday,June 16,2013,at Our Community Nursing Home in Scotland Neck,NC. She was born November 13,1953 in Tarboro,NC,the second child of Irma and the late Percy Reid. Gwendolyn grew up and lived in Scotland Neck,NC. She attended public schools in the Halifax County School system,graduating from Scotland Neck High school in 1972. She was well liked by her classmates and even after school days,their affections for her continued. When family members encounter many of her old friends,they would always inquire,\\'How is Gwendolyn?\\' Gwendolyn attended Edgecombe County Community College for a short period of time but due to illness,she had to stop before completing the program.Gwendolyn loved going places and while her health was good,she never missed a car trip. She was a life long member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and faithfully attended until her health prevented her from going. She is survived by her mother,Irma Reid of Scotland Neck,N.C.,two Sisters Angela of Rocky Mount,NC;Pecolia (Kenneth) of Charlotte, N.C.,one brother William (Angela) of Concord,NC,one niece,Adrienne of Charlotte,NC,three nephews Marcus of Charlotte,NC,Malcolm of High Point,NC,and Medgar of Concord,NC,and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday,June 20,2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Tarboro,NC. Faye as called by the family was a loving daughter and sister and shall be missed by all.
