Dr. Audrey Lucille Leathers Price Battle died Friday, October 30, 2020 at Scotland House, Scotland Neck, North Carolina. Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at 1:00PM at The Leathers Family Cemetery, Hobgood, North Carolina with Rev. Vincent L. Price Eulogist and Rev. Joseph L. Battle will conduct the Committal Service. The family will be in procession at the Thomas Shields Elementary School at 12:15PM in preparation for the service.
She was a member of Longs Chapel Missionary Baptist Church , and was the former State President of the North Carolina Association of the Minister's Wives and Minister's Widows and also The Edgecombe/Nash & Vicinity Association Ministers' Wives & Ministers' Widows,Association, The Neuse River Missionary Baptist Association, The Halifax County Missionary Union, The Roanoke River Union and many other auxiliiaries too numerous to name. She worked diligently in the music department as pianist for several churches in Edgecombe and Halifax counties. She is a retired Teacher and Assistant Principal with the Halifax Public School System.
She leaves to reminisce and reflect on her life, four sons, Rev. Vincent L. Price (Minister Shernetta), Zebulon, North Carolina, Gregory F. Price (Judy) Tuson, A.Z., Rev. Joseph L. Battle (Shirlon) Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, George E. Battle Jr.,Greensboro, North Carolina, Three daughters, Elder Belinda B. English (Minister Dwight), Greensboro, North Carolina, Joyce B Womack (Harold) Greensboro, North Carolina and Minister Veronica B. Brown, Whitsett, North Carolina, one daughter-in-law Cathy Battle, Greensboro, North Carolina. Fourteen grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren.
The Public Viewing and Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 2:00PM to 5:00PM with the family greeting guest from 2:00PM--3:00PM. at Dickens Funeral Service, Tarboro, North Carolina.
