Ms. Essie Dew, 84, of Suitland, Maryland formerly of Tarboro, North Carolina, died on Sunday February 14, 2021 at home. A Chapel Service will be held on Saturday February 20, 2021 at 4:00PM at Dickens Funeral Service, Tarboro, North Carolina with Rev. Robert C. Farmer, Eulogist. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
She is survived by three step-sons Leland Cherry, Leonard Hammond and Alonza Dew, three daughters Verna Carrington (Gregory) Faye Dew (Jordan) Shirley Young (Michael), stepdaughters Lelia Cherry and Theresa Cherry. One brother Robert Arnold and one sister Ernestine Hyman.
A Public Viewing and Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 3:00PM. The Service will be Live-Streamed on our Facebook page. We will be following the COVID-19 guidelines in distancing and asked that masks be worn for the service.
Monetary donations can be made on behalf of Mrs. Dew to St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church Mother's Board, Mrs. Hattie Sugg, President.
