Mamie Moss Obituary

Ms. Mamie Lee Moss 92, transitioned on Thursday January 12, 2023 at ECU Tarboro Edgecombe Hospital, Tarboro, North Carolina. Services for Ms. Moss will be held on Saturday January 21, 2023 at 1:00PM at Pines Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 502 E Hamlet Street, Pinetops, North Carolina with Rev. William T. Keys officiating. Burial will follow in the Carver Park Cemetery, Pinetops, North Carolina.

Mamie Lee was the matriarch of her  family and a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend. She was married to L.C. "Bud"  Moss for forty-four years, until his death on October 13, 1998. She was also preceded in death by a son Marion Ray Moss. 

A public Viewing will held at Dickens Funeral Service on Friday January 20, 2023 from 2:00-7:00PM. There will also be a public viewing at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service from 12 noon til 1:00PM.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Bernice Barnes of Capitol Heights, Maryland, Gwendolyn Mabry  (Oscar), Carolyn Hopkins, Raymond Earl Moss (Deborah) all of Pinetops, North Carolina; two brothers, Oscar Farmer, Jr.(Catherine) of East Hartford Connecticut and George Farmer (Carolyn) of Richmond Virginia; two sisters Martha Ruth Mobley of Deltona, Florida and Ethel Goode of Fayetteville, North Carolina; one brother-in-law, Vanjamin Barnes  of Fort Washington, Maryland. She was preceded in death by brothers Benjamin Farmer and James Farmer, and sisters, Mary Dancy, Amy Rea Gray, Delois Mercer and Earldene Barnes. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Shayla Savage (Jeremy) of High Point, North Carolina, Byron Barnes of Capitol Heights, Maryland, Dawn Mabry of Odenton, Maryland, Shakira Wiggins of High Point, North Carolina, Crystal Mabry of Pensacola , Florida, Jasmine Barnes of Burlington, North  Carolina and one granddaughter in which Mamie Lee raised as her very own , Aisha Windross (Cleveland) of Pinetops, North Carolina.One grandson, CalvinBarnes preceded her in death. She has twelve great-grandchildren and a host of nieces ,nephews, relatives, and friends whose lives were touched by her love.

We are continuing to follow the COVID guidelines and ask that you please wear masks for all services
